CLAIRE PIREDDA

Claire Piredda was born in Montréal in 1963. She studied sculpture at Rome’s Temple Abroad and painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in the same city, developing a soft gesture and saying that it has its roots in classical Greek art. However, the force that gives the decisive sculptural gesture makes her work somewhat contemporary, while maintaining an infinite sweetness. Her women, worked to add fresh clay, express a sweet and welcoming feminine, strong and childlike. Women shooting still and immobile, filled with an accomplice and challenging look, rich in the past projected into the future. Claire Piredda lives and works in Rome.
